Intersolar: charging electric vehicles at home with the innogy charging box
Domestic charging station for electric vehicles from 599 euros
Complete with installation from 1,739.95 euros
Grant for charging boxes from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia
Compact, quick and safe – the convenient innogy eBox for 599 euros. A powerful charging box is an essential accessory for owners of electric vehicles. Because: with the innogy eBox, featuring a power output of 11 kW, electric vehicles charge five times quicker than on a conventional wall socket.
Installation is simple: the charging box is connected to an existing electric distribution board and fitted at the private parking space. In this way the car can always be charged while it is parked. The complete package comprising charging box plus installation by specialist electricians is available from 1,739.95 euros. An online configurator provides a convenient and quick overview of the system.
innogy also has a solution in its portfolio that is suitable for businesses planning to switch their fleet to electric vehicles: the smart charging box including installation service. Fleet operators can thus offer their employees a convenient charging solution for their company car at their parking space at home. If required, innogy can also log the electricity used for charging the company car at home separately. This is a precondition for the employer being able to calculate and reimburse actual consumption and associated costs. It is based on the individual electricity tariff of the employee.
For people living in North Rhine-Westphalia, a grant is available for installing private and public charging points. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia refunds, for example, 50 per cent of the purchase costs for a private charging box, but only if the costs exceed a minimum price of 350 euros; the maximum subsidy is 1,000 euros per charging point. People planning to buy an electric car in the near future can install the charging box now and benefit from the grant. innogy recommends the complete package consisting of installation and eBox: the package will be subsidised by approximately 870 euros. The deadline for applying for the grant at the Regional Government in Arnsberg is 20 November 2018.
Currently, around 110,000 electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids are on the road in Germany. According to experts from the German National Platform for Electric Mobility, approximately 80 to 90 per cent of charging processes take place at home or at work. innogy has already installed around 10,000 safe charging boxes at its customers’ homes and businesses. And, if travelling further, drivers of electric vehicles can avail of the Germany-wide charging network provided by innogy and its partner companies.
