World première of innogy eMobility’s new charging solution for electric vehicles

  • Benefit for customers: simple and intuitive operation, extremely reliable

  • Focus on safe operation and intelligent connectivity

  • Global première at E-world – devices delivered from April 2019

A world première at innogy eMobility Solutions during the E-world trade fair (5 to 7 February in Essen): the leading technology provider for charging solutions presents its latest generation of charging stations, developed in-house. Simple and fast operation, reliable and safe to use, straightforward andcost-effective installation – these are the key customer requirements that the developers of this solution focused on. They were translated into a modular product concept that puts the drivers of electric vehicles and their needs first. Further the consistent connectivity concept and optimal integration into software solutions fulfil the requirements of charging station operators.

By focusing exclusively on smart charging points, we are once again demonstrating that we are among the leading providers of charging technology. This generation of charging points which is about to be launched on the market marks the dawn of a completely new era.

The new portfolio of products with a charging capacity of up to 22 kW AC comprises three different product types in total. They can be installed as wall-hanging boxes or as free-standing on poles. Featuring a screen, illuminated icons or simply an LED ring: operating the charging point is always intuitive for the customer as the charging status is clearly displayed. All product types are intelligently networking, based on standardised communication protocols, and can be easily incorporated into IT networks. In combination with innogy’s eOperate software solution, the operation is guaranteed to be reliable and safe at all levels, which is of particular benefit in the business customer segment.

Elke Temme, COO eMobility Solutions GmbH
We focused on three major criteria when we developed the new technology generation: intuitive operation, a maximum of intelligence and total safety and reliability: operating the hardware is completely intuitive now, all product types are equipped with communication technology and can be optimally managed and serviced during operation in this way. The modular design allows cost-effective installation and easy updates for both hardware and software components.

This has many benefits for customers: from optional remote control of the charging technology via smartphones and a wide range of authorisation and payment options at the charging points, to easy tracking of the charging processes for users and operators of charging stations. Therefore, this technology is suitable for a wide range of customer groups. Businesses, charge point operators, municipal utilities or private customers can be provided with optimal product solutions and features that are tailored exactly to their needs. Installation benefits due to the modular design concept, suitability for all weather conditions, connectivity and network capability via WiFi or Bluetooth interfaces (with eBox professional and higher also via mobile data), incorporating a smart meter to ensure that bills can be broken down to kWh-level and thus comply with German calibration law, or intelligently linking the charging stations to the innogy IT backend to provide advanced services such as load management – everything can be operated and incorporated easily and efficiently.
