Up to EUR 80,000 reward for information about acid attack on CFO Bernhard Günther

innogy offering reward for information leading to perpetrators’ arrest

innogy is offering a reward of up to EUR 80,000 for information that helps solve the case of the acid attack on CFO Bernhard Günther and lead to the arrest of the as yet unidentified perpetrators. This decision was taken after the Office of the Public Prosecutor in Wuppertal announced on 28 September that the investigation into the acid attack on Bernhard Günther will be discontinued because the perpetrators could not be identified. At the same time, the Office of the Public Prosecutor announced that it would recommence proceedings should new information emerge.

The innogy SE Board has thus decided to ask the public for information that may lead to the case of the cowardly attack on innogy Board member being solved. Bernhard Günther was attacked out of the blue by two unidentified men on a park walkway in Haan at around 9.20 a.m. CET on Sunday 4 March 2018, brought to the ground and showered with acid. The perpetrators then fled in an unknown direction. Bernhard Günther suffered extremely severe injuries.

The reward is being offered exclusively to individuals. Members of the authorities whose professional duties include prosecuting criminal activities are not eligible for the reward. Should more than one person supply information that leads to solving this crime, the reward will be divided proportionally, according to the relevance of the information. Any person who can supply relevant information on the attack is asked to contact the police in Düsseldorf, any other police station or Simmons & Simmons Solicitors (Anwaltskanzlei Simmons & Simmons). They will treat this matter with the utmost confidentiality and discretion. The persons providing the information can remain anonymous if they wish.
