Dolgarrog Hydro fund awards £10k to local companies

  • Dolgarrog Fund helps towards securing lifesaving equipment
  • 13 community groups set to benefit

Clwyd & Gwynedd Cadets, Nant Conwy Rugby Club and the Calvert Trust are just a few of the latest beneficiaries of innogy’s Dolgarrog Hydro Community Fund.

Most recently, 13 community groups have received a total amounting to £10,000 from the fund. Dolgarrog, Tal y Bont and Llanbedr are now in receipt of funding to purchase AED defibrillators for the villages thanks to the funding.

Tracey Roberts from Dolgarrog Community Defibrillators Fundraisers said:

“I am really pleased that, thanks to funding from innogy’s Dolgarrog Community Fund and other grants, a defibrillator will now be purchased and installed here in Dolgarrog. Cardiac arrest is a serious issue. Community defibrillators have an important role in helping to save lives, especially in rural communities like ours. This equipment is potentially lifesaving. We are still looking for further sponsors to maintain the defibrillator so if your business is interested please contact us directly.”

Katy Woodington, senior community investment manager for innogy said;

“I am delighted to see so many local and diverse groups benefit from the Dolgarrog Community Fund. Be it to help develop sport facilities, install lifesaving equipment or host community events. In addition to generating clean renewable energy, it is great to see community aspirations being realised thanks to this longstanding, sustainable funding.”
