Alexander Stechert-Mayerhöfer appointed new Senior Vice President Public Affairs & Communications
Alexander Stechert-Mayerhöfer has been appointed new Senior Vice President Public Affairs & Communications of innogy SE. He has taken over the Public Affairs & Communications unit from Peter Heinacher, who has left the energy company based in Essen, Germany (see press release from 11 June 2019). Previously, Stechert-Mayerhöfer was Head of Group Media Relations and responsible for overall communications on the innogy side regarding the E.ON transaction. His area of responsibility also includes the internal services and agency platform, which pools all social media, content marketing, analytics, user experience and user interface activities for the entire Group.
Leonhard Birnbaum, CEO innogy SE: “The integration phase of innogy into the new E.ON, which is beginning now, brings with it substantial challenges. I am delighted that in Alexander Stechert-Mayerhöfer we have an excellent communications professional taking over responsibility for external and internal corporate communications at innogy. He has already proven his level-headed leadership style, his creativity and innovativeness over the past few years at innogy and during the transaction phase with E.ON.”
Alexander Stechert-Mayerhöfer has been working in corporate communications for the energy company since 2016. Previously, he worked as a journalist in managerial roles for leading German business media.
