CEO Uwe Tigges resigns from Executive Board of innogy SE

Uwe Tigges is resigning as Chief Executive Officer of innogy SE and will cease to be a member of the Executive Board of the energy Group at the end of today. This was announced during innogy's Supervisory Board meeting today within the context of the changeover of the majority shareholder of innogy from RWE to E.ON. The decision was taken by mutual agreement.

Johannes Teyssen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of innogy SE: "innogy has a lot to be thankful to Uwe Tigges for. He took on the role of CEO during a difficult phase for the company. Under his prudent and forward-looking leadership, innogy was able to develop into the company it is today – one of the key drivers of the energy transition in Europe. In our negotiations over the past few months over the integration of innogy into the new E.ON, we often had to fight hard for what we wanted. The results are quite presentable: Through the fair and balanced integration process, we have laid the foundation for a successful future for the new, stronger E.ON. For this and for the great mutual trust we have shown in our work together, I would like to thank Uwe personally and on behalf of the entire Supervisory Board.

Uwe Tigges, CEO of innogy SE: "It was a joy and an honour to have had the opportunity to lead innogy through this challenging phase together with my colleagues on the Board. I am proud of what we have achieved in the past few years. In a very short period of time we succeeded in creating a new energy transition company with a lively brand and a modern work culture. All of this was only possible because our executives and our employees demonstrated great commitment to the company. My wish for all of them is that they continue to pursue with just as much self-confidence and enthusiasm the mission we have so promisingly begun."

Uwe Tigges joined the RWE Group in 1984. After various positions in IT, he was a works council representative in a number of Group companies between 1994 and 2012. From 2004 to 2012, Tigges was Chairman of the European Works Council of RWE AG, and from 2010 to 2012 he was also Chairman of the Group Works Council. In January 2013, Tigges was appointed Chief Human Resources Officer of RWE AG and became Labour Director in April of the same year.

From April 2016 to April 2018, he was Chief Human Resources Officer of the newly founded company innogy SE, and from 2017 he took on the additional role of Labour Director. After the departure of Peter Terium from the Executive Board of innogy SE in December 2017, Tigges initially became interim CEO. In April 2018, the Supervisory Board appointed Tigges as CEO of innogy SE.
